Once again, I stepped back and waited till we could get some truth out of the nightmare of what happened on Thursday, November 5, at Ft. Hood. There are still more questions than answers. Now here is my expressed feelings and you knew they were coming because those who know me know our military has my heart.
There are good Christians. There are bad Christians. There are good Muslims. There are bad Muslims. A soldier did not klll and wound our heroes that day, a terrorist did.
My blog has been viewed by the government. I can see it in my stats, especially if I mention thanking a Congressman or complain about the VA system. That is what I do. I acknowledge those who help and express my opinion of things based on personal experience with the VA system. I have no problem with anyone seeing my blog or asking me questions about it. I have nothing to hide as my real-life friends can attest to.
Business cards? Encouraging soldiers he is suppose to help to rise up against America? Using oral presentations for political rampages against the military?
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's quite likely to be a duck.
A friend said Political Correctness is going to be the death of us. If that means our REAL combat veterans with PTSD are kicked to the curb, while someone who's never been can claim it, then he is right. If that means grandmas are investigated while officers in our Army can correspond with known terrorists, he is right.
George Sodini wrote in an online blog that he was going to kill people. Let me tell you something, if I come across a blog that someone is going to hurt himself or someone else I am reporting it. Now granted, my schedule allows me very little time these days to even read my friends blogs all the time but I would still do my duty as a person because to me it is a cry for help.
But he killed women at a gym. Hasan killed 13 soldiers, an unborn child and wounded many others. Again, there were warning signs.
I was glad he survived. He can not go down as some martyr. Guess what, Moron? A martyr is someone who risks his life to save someone. That is a martyr, a hero. People who will rush into a burning building to save a crying child, who will rush into an alley when their commanding officer is shot, when they take down a plane so more innocent civilians are not attacked, those are martyrs and heroes.
You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier and never will be in this American's eyes. You have HURT innocent Muslims by being the shooter at Ft. Hood. You have betrayed your country by turning on your fellow soldiers. Allah, God, Lord, whatever we call Him based on how we view Him, does NOT honor murderers.
I am glad you survived. The irony? You will probably get medical benefits for the rest of your life because you were paralyzed in a massacre you caused while there are thousands of military veterans waiting for benefits because they HONORABLY served.
A hero goes to war to defend his country, which was attacked first on September 11, 2001. A hero saves a lady who falls down the stairs when he is working for his uncle. A hero helps her mother to walk again following a stroke.
There are many rumors that officials knew about Hasan, that there were complaints. This scares me. My friend is right, political correctness is going to be the death of us if we do not wake up and pay attention to warning signs no matter WHO the person is.
As for me? I may very well have added a new hero to my list: Lieberman.
So there.

First thing I wanted to check was the you and yours were safe. Second thing I wanted was to make sure they had the shooter. Guys that do this sort of thing always "leave" a trail that everyone says after the fact, "Oh yeah, I knew/read/saw that he was crazy". Well, excuse me, then do something about it. I'm sorry for all of those people who lost loved ones. And if Lieberman was the police officer who actually stopped him, then she is a hero in my eyes too.
You don't have to ask my thoughts on this matter. You know 'em as instinctively as you've come to know me these past 5 years.
That said, I'll say my mind, anyway:
Political correctness is a disease, eating at the heart of our constitutional representative republic, and the freedoms we know and cherish. It should be treated as ruthlessly as the cancer to freedom that it is.
Hasan is a terrorist. However, he was also a member of the US Military, and as such, took an oath of allegiance and duty to this nation. So, I can live with him being handled as a traitor or terrorist. The penalty for a convicted traitor is death. Considering his physical condition, make it a slow one.
I'm sure a jihadist is thrilled to know that he was done in by a female civilian cop. Three cheers for her, and she's as much a hero as our men and women in uniform.
The talking heads who are more worried about how the world sees us, than they are the security of this nation, can individually and collectively, go to hell.
'Nuff said.
Munley and Todd were definitely heroes that day as were all those who tore off uniforms to save comrades "leaving no man behind".
Lieberman is a politician who is insisting on a detailed investigation into the warning signs not being taken seriously. I'm definitely going to get in on his campaign should he run for President.
Lieberman joined the 'Dark Side' when he ran as AlGore's veep in '00. But he seems to have regained some of the good sense God granted him after severing that unsavory association, and I have to laugh at how he thumbed his nose at the party that thumbed its nose at him, and still they try to throw him just enough bones to keep him in their 'sphere of influence'. He should make a clean break from a party that broke with him. Eh...at any rate, he won't be running for president.
